Box Description:
"Vietcong is the American expression for the "National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam" which, as a communist guerilla organisation, led the armed resistance to the South Vietnamese regime during the Vietnam War. In 1957 the Vietcong, with the support of North Vietnam, started their guerilla actions against the regime and also against US military installations. In 1965 the war escalated, ending in 1975 with the capture of Saigon by the North Vietnamese troops."
